The Pixel brand has captured not just the heart but the imagination of many, from consumers and journalists alike it consistently has rave reviews. And why wouldn’t it? With its exceptional built quality and up to date version of Android, Google Pixel continues to display the very best of what an Android phone can do and we love to see it.

As it’s coming up to that important time where the Pixel will be announced here is everything you need to know.

When will it be released and how much would it cost?

Google has said it will be released in the fall but if that’s anything to go by we can expect a mid to late October release.

There hasn’t been a clear indication of what the price of the Pixel 6 is and going off older models wouldn’t help as over the past few years there has been a bit of confusion with the current price points.

Pixel 3 and 4 were priced at the higher end of the pixel range while Pixel 5 was closer to the middle range at a price point of £599.

Design

  • Different camera design
  • Potential under-display fingerprint scanner

Thanks to Google for leaking its own image of their upcoming Pixel 6 ( even if its only the rear of the device). This is unlike any other Pixel with the camera zone spread across the back the phone itself. According to Google, they claimed that the camera has been resigned and no longer fits like its predecessors.

There have been no releases of what the front of the phone looks like itself but we can expect flat display with the typical punch hole camera, where that may be placed is anyone guess. Following on from that trend, expect an under-display fingerprint scanner which makes sense considering there isn’t the usual rear fingerprint sensors often found above the logo.

Display

  • 6.4-inch, Full HD+
  • 120Hz refresh rate

Display should be flat for the 6, however the Pixel 6 Pro is said to curve. A full HD+ resolution is expected with a 120HZ refresh rate.

Camera

  • Pixel 6: Dual rear (50MP+12MP)
  • 8MP front

The showstopper, the camera tends to be the main focus of all Pixel phones and rightly so. Google have always found a way to pack in a quality camera that is often on par with the big boys ( think Apple and Samsung ). That trend is unlikely to end anytime soon especially with the confirmed set up.

A dual camera set up is expected on the rear for the 6 while the Pro will be home to the triple rear camera. Rumoured 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera for the 6.

Internal

Google confirmed chip, Tensor, would be making its appearance in the new Pixel 6 devices with up to par performance to the Qualcomm snapdragon 700 series and other variations such as the 865, 888 making sure it keeps in line with recent performances of other manufactures.

8GM of RAM should be on board as well as a choice between 128GB and 256GB of storage for the Pixel 6. Expect the battery capacity to be around 4614mAh.
